Update and Two Great Books

It has been a long, busy month since I last posted something. This is not because I didn't have much to say, I just thought better of it. Things like the BP oil top the list, but I'll save them for the future. The end of the semester and school year was particularly busy for some reason this year.

For the moment and recognizing that I don't often tout books due to my mostly technical reading, let me mention two books:

Mary and I finished Game Change about two weeks ago. What a book! After reading it, I am totally amazed at the general level of stupidity that masquerades as leadership. READ IT if you have any interest in the behind-the-scenes activities of the past presidential race.

My current bedside companion is hot off the 2010 presses and will blow you away. While not sounding particularly interesting on the surface, unless you are into demographics and anthropology, you SHOULD read Fred Pearce's The Coming Population CRASH and Our Planet's Surprising Future. Besides painting an amazingly different picture of the future, the recent history of eugenics will likely overwhelm you, in more ways than one. It's another READ IT.

More later.
