Illicit Drugs

Can anyone explain to me why they are "illicit?" Does the Bible say "thou shall not sniff, shoot, snort or inhale drugs?" The 'bad guys' make money through their growth, manufacture, distribution, and sales. The 'good guys' suffer because of the money that's made and used to support the drug economy, and the destruction and general criminal activities related to it. We are wasting countless dollars in a futile attempt, which at best is 'make believe,' to control them. And, the money made through drugs goes to support many, if not most, of the war-like activities that the US is facing, both here and abroad.

Legalize it. Plain and simple. Pull the economic supporting rug from under the entire drug market! Sell drugs from pharmacies at a fraction of the street price. Those who want it can have it with the caveat that, like being drunken, their job is likely to be gone, as well as their driving license revoked, and their life is down the toilet (which it is already.) Certainly, it won't cost the tax payers any more to deal with legal druggies than with illegal druggies and the stupid war on drugs. We may be our "brothers' keepers" but we don't have to pay for it at some extreme rate, with stupid repercussion. Money from sales may be used for rehabilitation. All decisions have results and implications. Life decisions are personal. So be it.
