Everyone wants electrical power but no one wants the electrical distribution towers. Scotti can't beam this stuff to your home! It's got to get there from someplace.
The greater our demand, the greater the dependency on the grid. Buckminster Fuller, back in the 60s no doubt, recognized that with a world-wide grid, mankind could constantly shift our sources of power from one sleeping area of the world to areas needing peak power, not to mention bringing power to all regions of the globe. (Notice how well his idea was implemented.)
Today's desired shift to renewable energies DEMANDS this kind of implementation. Hey, the sun don't shine all the time, everywhere. Nor does the wind blow in all areas.
To make matters worse, if you like summer air condition rationing, "brown-outs." or outages, you will LOVE what's in store for us when the "plug and drive" cars come driving in - thousands of commuters arriving home, plugging in their battery chargers and sucking down the KWh. It's got to come from somewhere and the utilities are just drooling in anticipation. Solor power on your roof won't cut it!
