All your eggs in one basket or why you need a cell phone with Verizon's Fiber

If you read my open letter below about Verizon's services and service, you will better understand the following. While both Comcast and Verizon offer an all-in-one service for TV, Phone and Internet, one should always remember the old saying "Don't put all your eggs in one basket." I say this not with glee, as my neighbors returned last night from South Carolina to find their Verizon fiber optic service down. (Luckily, they didn't return a earlier because the electrical power was down for 36 hour, too.) Luckily, they have their cell phone and I might be connecting an off-air TV box for them depending upon what the service people say.

And, here I sit connected to the Internet and my land-line via the old copper wires. :)
