Unless you believe the fiction that circulated out of the Cuban government that the US was actively directing the courses of hurricanes toward their island, the best that mankind seems to be able to accomplish in controlling weather is to seed a few clouds. Does ANYONE truly believe that we are going to limit Mother Nature’s temperature change to a couple of degrees over the course of the next few years? All of this running around and shouting is nothing more than savages and rain dances.
Should we conserve our resources? Certainly! But I have been saying that since high school. The problem is that it always costs more money (and/or effort) to do so. When I was with the health department in the early 70s, and before that as a science major, the big topics under discussing were the same as they are today. Maybe it has take a couple of generations to change a mindset. And, it might not be too late. But, conservation of resources is a broad topic which may not, should not (?), nor will not stop at energy. (More later.)
